On to country #74 – Albania! There are no train links so arriving from Montenegro included a shared car ride with a chain-smoking, Red Bull downing, techno music blasting driver from Serbia (quite the experience). There was supposed to be a bus, but only myself and a French and Spanish guy had signed up…so an Opel hatchback it was! The hotel reminded a lot of my stay at the Sheraton Bratislava:

I loved Tirana! The food is so good and cheap. And the people are super nice. Did you take the shared car from Kotor? If so then I think I did the exact same- I remember having a driver just like that.
Have the grilled zucchini with the yogurt sauce if you are still there- one of my favorite dishes ever.
And keep up the unique posts! This is why I still visit BA; not for the stupid first class trip reports of the same product over and over.
Brings back memories of the Great Pyramid of Tirana and the Skanderbeg Sphinx. Hope you got to visit the Et’hem Bey mosque, which is quite unique inside.
