T-Mobile today announced that they would be joining Sprint and Verizon in Cuba as the carrier has closed a deal with Empresa De Telecommunicaciones De Cuba, S.A. (ETECSA) to allow for customer roaming while traveling in Cuba. AT&T remains the only major US carrier without a roaming agreement in the Caribbean nation. You should be able to use your T-Mobile service in Cuba beginning this summer. T-Mobile also announced that landline and wireless phone calls to Cuba from the US will cost Simple Choice customers $0.60 per minute through its International Talk feature. I recently returned from Cuba and had an incredible time (and great flights on Copa). I didn’t mind having no AT&T wireless service and only spotty wifi service, it was nice to disconnect. Trip reports coming soon!
