Sad news as American announces the end of their partnership with Jet Airways effective December 31, 2017, though award travel can begin as late as December 31, 2018. This is especially disappointing as many times this is the only Europe award bookable with AAdvantage miles unless you want to pay ridiculous surcharges for British Airways flights.
December 31, 2017 is the last day to fly and earn miles on Jet Airways. All award travel must also be booked and ticketed by that date. Travel is valid for 1 year after ticket date but must be flown by December 31, 2018. You won’t be able to make changes to any Jet segments after 2017.
As John mentioned in his recent post that highlights how to find award seats to Europe – Trouble finding business class award space to Europe? Here are your best bets, Jet Airways provides an almost always available award option from North America to Europe and redemptions are available via award programs for American Airlines, ANA, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Delta, FlyingBlue, Korean Air, Etihad, Emirates, and Virgin Atlantic.
While Jet Airways does not currently fly to any U.S. cities, their daily 777-300er service between Toronto and Amsterdam has outstanding business class award availability.
You’ll have to use ExpertFlyer to search availability, and call your frequent flyer program of choice to book. To string together an itinerary originating in the United States, it is probably easiest to book with either American AAdvantage or Delta. Korean Air is also a good option, but can only be used to book round-trip itineraries.
One of the most enticing values out there is to book directly with Jet Airways, which recently became a Citi ThankYou transfer partner. Business class tickets between Toronto and Europe cost 40,000 points one-way.
Onboard, Jet Airways offers direct aisle access herringbone suites, among the better seats included in this list.
AAdvantage miles can also be used to book semi-enclosed first class suites on the 777, though you’ll have to call to check availability, as it does not appear through ExpertFlyer.
Remember, all bookings made via AAdvantage miles must be ticketed by December 31, 2017 for travel by December 31, 2018. Changes to Jet segments will not be allowed after 2017.

LOL, i wonder if this is because JET airways is about to start flying directly into MIA soon.
If no changes can be made to an award in 2018, and AA only allows up to 330 days ahead, how can you book a jet airways award in December 2018?
[…] is not a member of any airline alliance, and also shares partnerships with United Airlines and American Airlines (though not for long). Delta does allow you to combine a Jet Airways flight with Delta flight, though, meaning you could […]
