Allegiant Air has won approval to start Newark service. The airline says it will offer flights beginning in November to Cincinnati, Ohio; Savannah, Georgia; Asheville, North Carolina and Knoxville, Tennessee for as little as $39 one-way. Allegiant will utilize Terminal B for their gates at Newark.
“It’s been something we’ve talked about for years, and now we’re just so excited to serve the New York metropolitan area,” said Lukas Johnson, Allegiant’s vice president for network and pricing.
They’ll become the first low-cost carrier to add flights to Newark after last year’s federal lawsuit claimed United was dominating takeoff and landing slots at the airport.
