One of the biggest complaints about ridesharing has been the inability to guarantee that a ride will be available when you need it. That is a prime reason why many passengers continue to choose taxis for their transportation needs.
In June, Seattle was the first city to receive access to the Scheduled Rides feature in Uber. On their Scheduled Rides page, Uber describes the feature:
Sometimes you want to schedule a pickup in advance so you can rest assured an Uber will be available when you need it, especially if it’s for a 4am ride to the airport. With Scheduled Rides you can request your Uber 30 days to 30 minutes ahead of time and have the comfort of knowing your Uber will be there when it’s time to head out.
Now, you can sign up for Early Access to this feature. By visiting their Early Access page, and then entering the email linked to your Uber account, Uber will try to offer you Scheduled Rides earlier than others!
Will this feature sway you to using Uber more often?
