In a speech during the Arabian Travel Market conference, the Senior VP of Commercial Operations at Emirates confirmed the pending first class product updates for the Emirates A380s and B77s:
“We are planning to launch a new luxury bedroom product aboard the A380 and B777 fleet. Our new premium product will be more like a private railway cabin, specially designed for just one passenger. While it will be more luxurious, it will also be more commercially viable in terms of pricing.”
Hopefully any cheaper pricing doesn’t reduce award availability…though I doubt a reduction in F fares will bring fares to a “reasonable” level for the majority of the traveling public.
We reported last year that Tim Clark, President of Emirates, leaked the following:
“Our new bedroom concept is all about privacy. That’s very much in our current First Class private suites product and our new bedroom concept will take it to the next level. We’re talking fully enclosed rooms, with all the touches and amenities that you’d expect in hotel or a private bedroom on a luxury yacht, room service and so on. It will be on our A380s and our new B777s.”
