A few months back, we learned that Delta was shadily planning on eliminating round-the-world (RTW) award redemptions without any real communication to their members. Since then we’ve helped multiple Juicy Miles‘ clients book their final Delta RTW trips. In the process, our team has spoken to numerous Delta RTW award desk agents and there is a very strong consensus among them that the desk will be open and operational for another full year. What this means is that agents will be available to assist with any existing RTW award tickets (and re-issues will be allowed as per these agents). This is especially great news for Platinum and Diamond Medallion members as you should theoretically be able to make free changes to your itineraries until next year. The caveat of course is that the desk will not be able to issue new tickets after December 31, 2014.
