Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas was delivered to the cruise operator yesterday from its shipyard in St. Nazaire, France. The boat is on its way to Barcelona where its first voyage kicks off on March 31st. The vessel ellipses its sister ship, Harmony of the Seas, by over 1,000 tons coming in at 228,081 tons! Unique to the ship is the first ever two-deck-high family suite with a slide between floors. The ship will have a crew of 2,200 and a capacity of almost 9,000 total people when fully booked. Construction began in 2015 and the ship will remain in the Mediterranean until relocating to Miami after the summer season for Caribbean based itineraries.
USA Today has exclusive early access to pictures and video of the ship prior to its maiden voyage. You can check all of those out here.
