One of the firms competing for the LGA makeover project submitted the two renderings below as part of their detailed proposal for consideration by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. The pictures were provided by the Global Gateway Alliance on behalf of NYC based firm Neoscape who hopes to win the bid. A winner will be announced in the next few weeks. The renderings show a 1.3 million square foot space that is 1/3 larger than the current Central Terminal Building. The design also leaves adequate space for a direct subway line extension.
“This comprehensive vision integrates a modern, efficient and innovative design, including the striking all-glass facade, into La Guardia’s main terminal,” said Joseph Sitt, chairman of the advocacy group Global Gateway Alliance. Estimated completion for the updates would be approximately 7 years in 2021!

Lol…. 7 years?
Building something to have in the future (that thing called infrastructure) is almost impossible nowadays in the good ol’ US.
Meanwhile, the evil that is Communist China can wrap up an airport construction in <2 years.
Oh but of course it'd be "unsafe."
Unions for the win, amiright?
interior rendering w/ wood slot ceiling and angled posts looks like MAD Barajas Term 4 without the bright colors.
I find it funny that all the airplanes in the picture are A380s. 🙂
No real improvement from the current terminals. 😉
