CBS Money Watch reports that on Monday, JetBlue doubled down on Cuba by announcing that they will be adding a second weekly charter flight from JFK to Havana, which will be on Tuesdays starting in December.
“The U.S. has the potential to be the biggest market for visitors to Cuba,” (JetBlue Senior V.P. for airline planning, Scott Laurence) said. “First and foremost, the ease with which people with family in Cuba can visit is top of mind for us. With tourism, I think there is such a great deal of interest in Cuba” partly because of its natural beauty and the mystique of the country.
Similar to most other flights to Cuba, despite JetBlue operating the flights, the tickets will continue to be sold through Cuba Travel Services.
Only time will tell if the influx of American tourism (and money) will dampen the history that makes Cuba so alluring. Will you try to go now that it is getting easier to get to Cuba?
