Maria from CN UK was nice enough to share the results of their 2013 Readers’ Choice Survey for the top hotels, islands, resorts, airlines, islands, and cruise lines with Point Me to the Plane readers.
Luxury creates discriminating critics. This year’s Readers’ Choice survey scores range from a lofty 99.2 for South Africa’s La Residence and New Zealand’s Lodge at Kauri Cliffs to a lowly 14.7 for Transavia airline. Luxury also seduces. Nearly 80,000 of you—far more than ever before—took part in the survey, casting 1.3 million votes. No destination was too remote: Both Tibet and Rwanda debut with hotels. None was too small: Four of your favorite cities have fewer than 10,000 citizens. And no hotel was too new: Seven that opened last year are here, from Montreal to Beijing. As always, you praise quality where it thrives, and find it where it emerges.
