Reminder – NYC Meet-Up Tomorrow – 130 Attendees @ THE LCL: Bar & Kitchen – Westin Grand Central

This is a reminder that tomorrow night is the big NYC meet-up. This is your chance to discuss all things points, miles, and travel related with over 130 confirmed attendees! Upon walking into the lobby, go about 25 feet to the right and you’ll see THE LCL: Bar & Kitchen.

If you’re a New York area resident or happen to be visiting, our small meet-up has turned into a full blown BoardingArea event! We’ve upgraded our location to comfortably accommodate all readers who have already RSVP’d.  The LCL: Bar & Kitchen located @ The Westin New York Grand Central (which just opened in October) has generously agreed to host our event. All are welcome to attend from near or far, though responses are required in order to confirm sufficient space. Very much looking forward to finally putting a face to some of the screen names and chatting about all things travel related. Please RSVP using this link.

When: Thursday, April 11th from 7pm-10pm

Where: THE LCL: Bar & Kitchen @ The Westin New York Grand Central, 212 East 42nd Street, New York, NY 10017 (btwn 2nd and 3rd)

Who: The event started as a Point Me to the Plane reader meet-up but we are very excited to have Deals We Like, Just Another Points Traveler, modhop, Rapid Travel Chai, and The Wandering Aramean all attending as well! Jason from Food, Wine, and Miles on Frist2Board, Kathy from Will Run For Miles, and Fozz on uptime! will also be in attendance.

Eats: There will be both a cash bar and food menu available in our dedicated area.

Adam is the proud Founder and CEO of both Point Me to the Plane and point.me. An international consultant turned TV programming strategist, Adam currently works full-time on both websites. His obsession with points and miles dates back to his freshman year at college. After browsing Flyertalk and Mileage Workshop, Adam pulled the trigger and signed up for his first Citibank AAdvantage credit card and MCI phone line (yes, landlines still existed). Back then, both deals were churnable and in no time at all, the college freshman had enough miles to travel to Europe and Asia in First Class for free, multiple times. Needless to say, he was hooked! Fast forward a few years and Adam of course ended up in a career with a heavy travel requirement…which meant extra miles for awards! As his colleagues and friends started to hear about and see pictures from his trips, they wanted in on the secret and Adam began to assist them with their bookings, Juicy Miles was born. At the same time, Adam started an email newsletter to prevent those less obsessed co-workers from squandering their point collection opportunities. The bi-weekly email covered everything from upcoming promotions, guidance on maximizing points, and redemption advice. The distribution quickly expanded outside the office and Point Me to the Plane became a BoardingArea blog.
