Secret Bedroom Breach Leads to Suspension for Asiana Flight Attendant

by Adam

Long-haul flights are equipped with crew-only rest areas where pilots and flight attendants can catch some rest mid-flight. However, on an Asiana Airlines flight from Rome (FCO) to Incheon (ICN), one attendant apparently brought her daughter to the employee only area after the child experienced motion sickness and dehydration. Airline officials took notice after the incident was reported anonymously via an Asiana online employee bulletin board called Blind.

The flight in question was equipped with seven beds for crew and the online post claims that staff were unable to rest on their scheduled time off because of the incident.

Asiana Airlines stated the unidentified employee had taken her daughter, a “middle school student,” to an area with secret airplane bedrooms off limits to the public, Yonhap news agency reported.”Manager A” took her daughter to the crew-only compartment after the child complained of severe motion sickness and dehydration. The flight attendant told her colleagues she would be taking a two-hour rest in the bedroom with her daughter, while her husband, who was also traveling on the flight, remained in his seat.

The airline is continuing to investigate the situation and will determine if any further corrective action is required.
