Another generous check-out for a Platinum member by Starwood! It’s 11pm here in Bangkok and I just checked out of the W Bangkok 2 1/2 hours ago at 8:30pm. When I first checked in they asked me whether I’d be flying out of Bangkok the day that I was checking out. I thought it was a strange question, but I provided them with my flight details. I was later told by the front desk that my check-out time had been extended to 8:30pm as I should leave for the airport by 9. Wow, pretty sweet and I didn’t even have to ask. I’ve had similar experiences at other SPG hotels lately….

Didn’t Starwood introduce a 24-hour check-in/check-out clock for platinum? (ie your check out time is just 24 hours from when you check in). I’m not totally sure as I’m not SPG Platinum, but I remember hearing about it and wanting SPG platinum as a result.
You’re referring to the Your24 benefit. It’s only available to Platinum members who has 75 nights and above. I’m not sure if it’s a gauranteed benefit, be sure to check the t&c.
@downhillcrasher, christopher, and Icpteck – The hotel has to confirm the Your24 benefit and they are not always able to (I haven’t had much luck with it at all actually).
Also, my check-in time was well before 8:30pm so this one-off late check-out was better.
Downhill crasher. You’re correct, here’s the press release. http://www.starwoodhotels.com/alofthotels/newsevents/news/detail.html?mode=pressReleasesDetail&id=StarwoodShakeUpStatus
