Among travel hackers, frustrating, rage inducing experiences with immigration offers are nearly ubiquitous. Most don’t take things into their own hands quite the way this British tourist just did in Bali.
Indignant at the £3,000 (roughly $4,000) fine she was charged for overstaying her tourist visa in Indonesia, Auj-E Taqaddas slapped the immigration officer, per a report published on Secret Flying. She is now being held in an airport jail until she pays the fine, multiple outlets reported Friday.
A YouTube video of the encounter shows Taqaddas arguing with the officer, claiming she already brought him the money. When she reaches for her passport, he withdraws it and she slaps the 28-year-old, saying “I’m your f****** mother.”
The U.K. newspaper Express reported similar details. Taqadda racked up £20 ($25) in fines for each of the 160 days she overstayed her visa.
