American Brings Back Kids’ Wings!

by Adam

If only adults were included too!  American is bringing back kid’s wings (wing pins) that flight attendants will distribute to young passengers on both legacy AA and US routes.  The wings began appearing again on Wednesday with Flight 1929 from Charlotte (CLT) to Orlando (MCO). An American spokesperson told Forbes that it’s been at least a decade since the airline gave out the pins.

“The world of aviation is a unique profession,” said Suzanne Hess, a Charlotte-based flight attendant who joined US Airways predecessor Piedmont in 1989, who was enlisted by American to hand out wings at the gate for Flight 1929′s departure. “There’s a wonder to it. It’s nice to be able to share it with children. They {would} get big smiles on their faces.”

Ugh! I hate when FA hand these to my small people.
The pins inevitably end up in someone’s skin. And we
already have some of these in a drawer at home. In the
1960’s this was probably way cool, now…..

I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum from Vincente – I just read this and got even more excited for our trip next spring with my kiddo!
