Guest Kicked out of Marriott for Not Being a Swinger Gets Stay Credits!

Back in December, TMZ reported that a woman was suing Marriott after she claimed she was kicked out of an Atlanta area Marriott for being a non-swinger on a swingers’ floor. She said she booked a room for a New Year’s Eve party, ran into a naked guy on her floor, and was asked by the Swingers of Atlanta to pay more for the privilege of being on that floor. When she said no, a fight erupted and she was hauled off in cuffs and her pajamas.

Hale Lewis says she booked a 3-day stay at the Marriott…and before she knew it … she claims she was hauled out in cuffs because of a mix-up over the floor she was on … which was apparently restricted to swingers.

Lewis claims she went through the normal process of booking a room, and says the hotel had no right to kick her out, let alone get cops involved. The lawsuit doesn’t say specifically what she did, but we’re guessing she pitched a fit after being told to leave.

Well, a local Atlanta gossip site is now reporting that the individual hotel has reached out to the guest via her attorney with “an apology and stay credits”…all while the lawsuit remains pending.

Fun times in the ATL!

  1. That is ridiculous. Essentially, Marriott has it knowledged (if you were to believe this story) that it allows certain clientele to co-opt an entire floor and altering the terms and conditions of booking that were the subject of the contract of the guest in question. I would love to alter the terms and conditions so that everyone has to be my best friend!!! This is ludicrous.

  2. This mystifies me. You book a ROOM, not a particular floor.

Desk agents should have smoothed this over by assigning her to a different room immediately.

Love the Gateway! Too bad it’s a Cat6, used to be my favorite place to use Cat5 certs.
