New Chase Marriott Bonvoy Card Limited Time Offers

Chase and Marriott have joined together to provide new offers on two of their Marriott co-branded credit cards. These are limited-time offers, although we have not been told when these offers expire; so act quickly if you want to take advantage of these Chase Marriott Bonvoy Card deals.

Marriott became the single largest hotel provider in the world, after acquiring Starwood (officially in 2016.) With this, Marriott now offers more than 30 brands in its portfolio. These are spread amongst 7,000+ properties across 131 countries and territories. Their offerings range from limited-service properties to some of the world’s most luxurious hotels and exotic resort escapes worldwide. If you are interested in earning Bonvoy points, it makes sense to discover the best Marriott credit card and to understand the special member benefits that come with them.

We’ll look into the specifics of each card’s offering:

Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold Welcome Bonus up to 50K Points

Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card

The Marriott Bonvoy Bold™ Credit Card (which comes with no annual fee) is offering a limited time welcome bonus of 50,000 Bonvoy bonus points after spending $1,000 within the first three months. That’s a 20,000 point increase over the former bonus of 30,000 bonus points – a 66% increase!

The Marriott Bonvoy Bold offers the following benefits include:

  • Marriott Bonvoy’s Silver Elite status (for as long as you are a cardholder)
  • Annual credit of 15 elite nights towards Marriott Bonvoy status
  • 3X Bonvoy points per dollar spent at Marriott properties, plus on select travel purchases
  • Cardholders have access to Chase Offers, offering savings with some retailers

Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Welcome Bonus – 100K Points

Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless™ Credit Card comes with a welcome bonus of 100,000 Bonvoy bonus points after spending $3,000 within the first three months. That’s a 25,000 point increase over the former bonus of 75,000 bonus points – a 25% increase.

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless™ Credit Card does carry a $95 annual fee. But that fee gets you an extra 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points over the Marriott Bonvoy Bold card (in the first year.)

The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless offers the following benefits include:

  • Marriott Bonvoy’s Silver Elite status for as long as you have the card
  • Annual credit of 15 elite nights towards Marriott Bonvoy status
  • Gold Elite status when you spend $35,000 on purchases each account year
  • An annual free night certificate valid at a property costing up to 35,000 points per night (see my notes below on getting even more value)

Those are just a few suggestions; you literally have many, many more choices from the Marriott portfolio.

Book a Marriott Category 6 Hotel With Annual 35K Certificate

File this under my hot tips: If you are lucky and willing to persevere a bit, you just might end up with a great deal! Normally, a Marriott Category 6 property goes for 50,000 Bonvoy points per night. But, thanks to Marriott’s PointSaver program, it is now possible to book a Category 6 Marriott with a 35k point certificate if the ‘off-peak dates’ allow for a cheaper redemption combined with a PointSaver option. Combine the two and that 50,000 room drops to 35,000; matching your Marriott Bonvoy Boundless annual free night (36,000) award certificate.

Which Marriott Bonvoy Card is the Better Choice

I think it’s pretty clear that the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card offer is the better option. That’s because even though the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card comes with an annual $95 fee, it delivers more than that in benefits.

Let’s do some quick comparison of how the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card offers more:

  • The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card gives 50,000 more Bonvoy points than the Marriott Bonvoy Bold offer (100,000 compared to 50,000)
  • Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card provides a free night award certificate on your account anniversary every year, the value of which surpasses the $95 annual fee

If the $95 annual fee has you hesitating, consider the option of getting it for the 50,000 additional Bonvoy points. The 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points then cost you less than two-tenths of a cent per point. That’s a great value. Those 50,000 points are worth (in my valuation) at least $400 (eight-tenths cents per point.) Using the free night certificate you could get more than $600 in value (for a Category 6, under an off-peak & PointSaver deal.)

The Upshot

For a limited time, Chase and Marriott are increasing their Welcome Bonus on two of their co-branded cards. Having a Chase Marriott Bonvoy Card offers great perks such as elite status and bonus point earnings. In addition, each has increased lucrative welcome bonuses. The offers are limited. My recommendation is to seize the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card offer. Its annual free night and 50,000 additional Marriott Bonvoy points over the Marriott Bonvoy Bold Card makes it more attractive. Either way, both cards are worth your consideration.
