Vietnamese Carrier Fined for In-Flight Bikini Show

by Adam

VietJet, a new low cost Vietnamese carrier, was fined on Thursday by the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) for an in-flight bikini show.  The show was part of a party to celebrate the inaugural flight from Ho Chi Minh to Da Nang last Sunday.  The airline was said to be using the bikini show to promote the “amazing nearby beaches of Da Nang”.  The fine amounted to about $1000 USD, a reasonable marketing cost to promote a new route!  I’d say they scored pretty high on customer service as well, the passengers in the video look extremely happy to be flying with VietJet….

Why were they fined? What’s wrong with a bikini show?
