Air Berlin Installing Etihad Business-Class Seats…Good News for AA & BA Redemptions

Frequent Business Traveler yesterday covered Air Berlin’s announcement of their new business class A330 long-haul product. Air Berlin, 29% owned by Etihad Airways, confirmed rumors that they are indeed installing the same seat used in Etihad’s business class cabins, a fully-flat direct-aisle access product.   1. Don’t get too excited: this was first announced at the ITB 11 months back, and its not fleetwide, just to 3-4 A330s that will ply on Germany-AUH to feed EYs network. The other routes will stay on the recently retrofitted seats that were second hand recliners from Swiss.
