The Top 10 US Hotels …and I’ve visited none

U.S. News has published their annual list of the top ten US hotels and I’ve sadly not made it to any property on the list. I can, however, think of several of my favorite US based properties that didn’t make the cut.  What do you think of their list?

Our editors analyzed recommendations from many sources, comparing reviews, accolades, and ratings for nearly 2,000 luxury hotels throughout the United States. Using this unbiased methodology, we found the hotels that consistently come out on top—those are the properties that have earned places on the U.S. News 2013 Best Hotels in the USA rankings. You’ll find the 10 hotels that have wowed guests time and time again. The properties on this list are winners not only for their luxurious amenities, fine service, and lavish decor, but also for the way they showcase America’s diversity. These properties range from major hotel brands to independent boutiques, and they can be found anywhere from California to New York, from South Carolina to Wyoming.

  1. Since I’ve resisted breaking the $1k per night barrier, I’ve sadly not had the pleasure of a top 10 stay either. I suggest using the list to find nice neighborhoods. The well-priced Helmsley Park Lane in NYC was quite adequate for a recent stay. Cabbies could find it easily when I told them “it’s on Central Park South between the Plaza and the Ritz-Carlton.”

  2. The Waldorf Astoria Chicago is my favorite hotel in the world! I used the rest of my hilton points to book before devaluation. Well worth the points. You can also fine great rates in the winter ($187 for an 1100sf suite…a complete steal!)

  3. It’s time to use some of your money to travel, and maybe feel a little more like the rest of us.
Tip:use one of those CC’s that give 3-5 points for travel purchase, i’m sure u hav a few of them. We can bag between 3-5K points, if those are spg points add $60-$90 and you can get a night at for example, the Four Points By Sheraton Sihlcity – Zurich, and save like a $100
