What do you think the answer is? Despite the pretty cool itinerary I booked earlier this week (which included a ATH-JFK segment), finding Delta operated non-stop award flights continues to be a challenge, even when additional frequencies are added. A little over a month ago, Delta announced that Summer 2015 would see expanded service to Athens from JFK, with weekly frequencies increasing to 10 from 7 from June 7, 2015 – August 30, 2015. Joining the A333 already on the route, a B767-300ER will operate the additional flight.
DL042 JFK1634 – 0930+1ATH 333 D
DL417 JFK1934 – 1245+1ATH 76W 237
DL263 ATH1200 – 1549JFK 333 D
DL216 ATH1430 – 1829JFK 76W 134
Here’s the crazy thing, until earlier this week, award searches on Delta’s website failed to even display the additional flight (despite it being loaded for revenue bookings for weeks)…even at the 325,000 point level. The flight is now displaying properly, but I found exactly two days (June-Aug) where it’s available at the BusinessElite low level. Not all that unbelievable I guess…
I must say the flexible 5 week calendar is a huge improvement, you can now see right away that there are no low level awards available for the entire summer 😉 !
