When Etihad first announced their amazing “The Residence” cabin, the initial 10 A380 flights with the configuration sold out immediately. The lack of availability later expanded to the entire first three weeks of flights and anything later could only be booked directly with Etihad’s phone reservations, though it was viewable online. Well, I just received this note from an Etihad PR contact that I’ve been in touch with since the announcement – “Adam, online booking is now open for The Residence cabin from January 17th onwards for our daily LHR A380 service”.
There you have it, for only $19,421 USD you can book your very own “The Residence” experience on a 7 hour one-way LHR-AUH flight.
“The Residence” is available on Etihad’s new A380s in a 125-square-foot cabin on the forward upper-deck. Available for single or double occupancy, each Residence has Ferrari-quality leather, table marquetry, custom carpets, a two-seat reclining sofa and an 82-inch-long double bed. A living room, private shower and double bedroom are all part of the exclusive residency.
Etihad recently announced that they plan to operate A380s on all LHR-AUH flights by August 2015. Additional A380s will then be added on routes to Sydney in June followed by JFK (timing tbd).
