Having recently moved from St. Louis to Los Angeles, the LA Rams NFL team were in the market for a formal affiliation with an airline. As is the case with any NFL team, corporate sponsorships play an important role in their bottom line at the end of the season.
The airline that gets to slap their logo in Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, until they move into their new City of Champions Stadium in 2019? American Airlines. American Airlines is currently the largest carrier at LAX, though Delta Airlines would certainly have something to say about their efforts. A Bloomberg article has made the argument that it will be challenging for any single airline to be able to dominate LAX, given its geographical location and proximity to other airports.
