Hyatt Responds to Post on Devalued Award Bookings Being Re-booked at Higher Rates

by Adam

Hyatt has responded to my post – Hyatt Devalues My Pre-Devaluation Award Post Booking! Rebooks at New Categ. 7…, in which a reservation booked prior to the devaluation was rebooked unbeknownst to me at the new category 7 rates. It made me wonder what this would mean for changes to existing reservations that are supposed to be allowed at the old rates until Febraruy 15th, would those be a struggle as well.  Well, here is Hyatt’s comment responding to both concerns:

Hello from Hyatt Gold Passport,

Any reservations made prior to January 7th will be using the previous award chart. You may make changes under the previous award chart until February 15, 2014. If you have a reservation that has been charged incorrectly, please feel free to contact me directly at dana.mowrey@hyatt.com.

Thanks,

Dana Mowrey
Guest Relations Manager

There you have it. As previously promised, reservations can be changed at the old rates until Feb. 15 and if you have any problems with a previous reservation you can email Dana directly.

“… made prior to January 7th … You may make changes under the previous award chart until February 15, 2014.”

does this include changes to either the date or hotel?

On Jan 5, I made a Grand Hyatt Hong Kong for Sep 5th so I can change it to Grand Hyatt Tokyo for a Dec date under the old chart?

thanks.

@DJ – Unfortunately it’s just the date.
