Yesterday I posted a sneak peek with a few pictures from my Bali St. Regis pool suite, today I want to share some of my favorite things about my Bali St. Regis stay and some pictures of the beautiful resort. Full trip report still coming next week. I’m currently at the W and I’m missing the St. Regis…
The Beach – Really one of the only white sand beaches in Bali and it has calm very warm turquoise water. The W has black sand and rough seas.
My Pool Suite – See yesterday’s post for pictures and details.
The Saltwater Lagoons – Each lagoon villa has its own private access to the lagoon but there are also two entry points for non villa guests. The lagoon is beautiful and flows throughout the resort. The pools aren’t too shabby either…
The Service – From the moment I stepped off the plane in Bali, the St. Regis was there to assist. I was met by someone holding a sign with my name before I even got to customs. He took my passport and USD for the visa fee and told me to head straight to the baggage claim. He reappeared a few minutes later with a visa, no line and no waiting. He then escorted me to another individual who walked my luggage to an awaiting Mercedes SUV. Once inside there were two cold towels and waters as well as chocolates. The A/C was already pumping! The car service is complimentary and is roundtrip (I had them take me to the W instead of the airport on the way back).
The service only gets better when you arrive at the resort. Everyone knows your name, everyone! From the second I walked in they were already greeting me by my name. The driver must have called ahead, but that’s still some impressive memorization skills. I can’t tell you how many times throughout my stay I was shocked by someone who I had never seen before knowing my name – the breakfast hostess, a landscaping staff member, the towel desk, a server at dinner, beach/pool attendants, the entire butler staff…wow. This is pretty common in Asia but the St. Regis Bali Resort takes it to an impressive extreme.
Speaking of the butler staff, they are incredible. Truly happy to help and willing to do whatever it takes to make your stay pleasant. The head butler, Carlos sets the tone and you can tell he truly loves his job. He approached me on numerous occasions throughout my stay to see how everything was going. When it came to his attention that I had requested a very late checkout (5pm) and received it, he called to tell me that he thought traffic would be horrendous at that time and that I should consider leaving earlier or later. When I noted that I wanted to make use of the property for the entire day he was able to push my checkout back even further. He even called the W to tell them what time to expect my arrival. About an hour before I was to leave a huge storm broke out. Carlos was again on top of the situation and pushed my car back to wait for the storm to pass. He even re-contacted the W to advise them of my new arrival time. In addition, he provided me with his contact numbers as he said “they would still be taking care of me if I needed anything, even after leaving the hotel”. He and the rest of the staff were truly incredible. Carlos actually used to work for Will Smith back when he was living in the states. More on the incredible butler staff in the full trip.
If everyone knowing your name didn’t make you feel important enough, how about all hotel staff members stopping and letting you pass when you walk by one of them?
Who doesn’t like to have some gold with their sashimi? Great breakfast (gigantic Asian hotel buffet style inclusive of all 3 meals), dinner, and beach sandwiches/pizzas
There’s tons of free water in your room, replenished each day (sparkling and still)
Somehow you feel completely secluded even-though the resort is full of guests – You can literally swim in the lagoon or pool without seeing anyone else. The beach empties out around 2pm and you may find yourself alone without any other guests. It helps that many of the guests tend to hang out at their private villas.

AMAZING!
I LOVE THE ST. REGIS BALI!! We are getting married here in June and I know that wonderful man Carlos you speak of. We visited last September and debated between a few resorts for the venue and Carlos, Dwi (our wedding coordinator), Lucia (sp?), and the entire team there made it a no brainer. Can’t wait to go back…and the French Toast at the breakfast buffet is amazing…I asked my fiance what it was…”Oh…a little piece of heaven.”
Agree as well. LOOOOOOVE the St. Regis and these pictures just inspired us to return. We had one of the best weeks there and we too found the staff marvelous.
sounds and looks amazing. when do the rates drop a lbit?
What a place. We finished our honeymoon here in a Lagoon Villa and it was unforgettable.
love these pix, What hotel chain is it?
Sounds amazing!
Thank you for staying with us,Adam. So happy knowing that you enjoy your stay with us. All the best!
I’m with Lauren. Reading the report and seeing the pictures has inspired us to return. We love Bali. Like you mentioned in your previous post, the hotel is amazing but we too suggest that everyone venture out to ubud and the other local towns. It truly makes the trip, especially returning to your St Regis suite.

why did you go to St. Regis first? I would always try to go to the best place last. If you go to the best first, it is all down hill from there…
@Lawrence – Totally agree but I had to go when the St. Regis had some of their better non-refundable rates, which was at the beginning of my trip. I will definitely end with it next time.
