In anticipation of the Season 8 premiere of HBO’s Game of Thrones, Aer Lingus had a bit of fun on Twitter unveiling their latest iteration of their business class “throne” seat. 😛

Thankfully, these rather-scratchy and uncomfortable looking seats are not becoming a reality.
Ireland’s flagship carrier Aer Lingus operates a fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft for its widebody operations across the Atlantic. In business class, Aer Lingus has a staggered, forward-facing 1-2-1 or 1-2-2 configuration. There’s two highly coveted seats per aircraft — and only two — seats 3J and 5J. These two seats are considered “throne” seats since they have table and storage space on both sides of the seat, making it almost feel, well, like a throne.

Apparently, for the final season of Game of Thrones, the cast filmed for 55 straight nights in northern Ireland in what was likely the most expensive and labor intensive scenes of the series.
Bravo to Aer Lingus’s social media team for some timely content while also promoting their business class cabin.
