Full Terms Of The British Airways Promotion

Here are full terms of the promotion I received in my email:

This promotion is only open to Eligible Participants. An Eligible Participant is a British Airways (“BA”) Executive Club Member.

Eligible Participants must register between the date of receiving this email and 13 December 2019 (Promotional Period), at the offer page before booking, and follow the “Register now” link provided. Registration must take place before booking in order to qualify.

Eligible Participants must book all Qualifying Flights by 23:59 GMT 13 December 2019 and all travel to be completed by 23:59 BST 30 June 2020 (Travel Period).

Double Avios is awarded on the first ten Qualifying Flights that are flown post registering and booking. The order of booking does not determine the order in which Qualifying Flights are awarded.

Eligible Participants who complete any Qualifying Flights will be automatically awarded double Avios 24-48 hours after completion of each Qualifying Flights up to a maximum of ten.

A Qualifying Flight is a single leg of a journey that departs from one location and lands in another, e.g. New York to London.

A Qualifying Flight is a flight with a BA prefix on any selling class or cabin on any British Airways operated service (excluding Reward flights or upgrades using Avios) or any flight included as part of a British Airways holiday and any flight with a BA prefix on a transatlantic flight operated by British Airways (BA), American Airlines (AA), Iberia (IB) or Finnair (AY) between Europe and North America.

The promotion also applies to travel on domestic flights within the UK, and within southern Africa (operated by Comair), Sunnair and CityFlyer.

Qualifying Flights can be booked as a one way, returns, multi trip bookings or as part of a holiday, where each individual leg counts towards the maximum of ten Qualifying Flights.

Pair British Airways Promotion With Vacation Sales

British Airways Vacations September sale

According to the terms, holiday bookings that include flights with a BA prefix are eligible for the promotion. So definitely check out British Airways’ sale on holidays through September 24.

The sale includes offers as low as $499 for round trip flights from New York to London and four nights in a hotel.

Earning Avios

Following British Airways’ fraught summer of strikes, an offer like this to build loyalty with its most important customers is a smart move from the airline. BA had similar offers in previous years but this travel window is much longer.

Avios remain some of the most versatile currencies out there and offer fantastic value on US domestic flights and intra-Asia flights.

Cards To Consider

If you’re looking to earn more Avios quickly, check out the British Airways Visa Signature card from Chase which is offering a welcome bonus of 100,000 Avios (with significant spend required) during the first year of card ownership. The card offers no foreign transaction fees and earns three Avios per dollar spent at British Airways, Iberia, Level, or Aer Lingus among other solid benefits. One interesting new benefit is an award surcharge rebate.

British Airways Executive Club is also a transfer partner for American Express Membership Rewards (currently offering a 40% bonus through 10/1/19). Membership Rewards can be earned using the American Express Platinum, Business Platinum, Gold, and Business Gold cards all of which are currently offering great sign-up bonuses.
