According to the FAA and reported by WABC, a window that cracked mid-flight caused Southwest 957 from Chicago Midway (MDW) to divert to Cleveland this morning.
There was no depressurization and oxygen masks were not deployed. An emergency was not reported, though the pilot did request a diversion to the nearest airport.
Southwest issued the following statement:
“The flight landed uneventfully in Cleveland. The aircraft has been taken out of service for maintenance review, and our local Cleveland Employees are working diligently to accommodate the 76 Customers on a new aircraft to Newark.”
