Delta Joins American & United in Zika Refunds & Fee Free Changes

by Adam

Delta has now issued a travel waiver for passengers who are concerned about Zika and travelling to destinations reported by the CDC to be affected by the virus. Passengers can request a refund or fee free change to dates or destinations through February 29th.

Customers may qualify for a change to alternate destinations, travel dates or a refund. Customers may make fee-waived changes to future reservations/tickets. However, changes need to be made by February 29, 2016.

In case you were not aware, Zika has been linked to an epidemic of birth defects in Brazil and is thought to be spreading to other regions of North and South America.  The CDC’s warning focused mostly on pregnant women or those seeking to become pregnant.  In the Americas, the CDC is concerned about a list of countries including Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Paraguay, Panama, Puerto Rico, Saint Martin, Suriname and Venezuela.
