Delta Says Size Matters in Seattle – Expands with One of the Largest Sky Clubs, Alaska to Open 3rd Lounge

by Adam

Does size matter? Delta thinks so. Alaska will still have more, but Delta will have the largest Seattle lounge in a plan revealed last week. The airline says that they intend to open a new Sky Club in Seattle at the end of 2016. The lounge will be a very large 21,000 square feet and rank as one of the five largest Delta Sky Clubs anywhere.

Earlier this month, Alaska opened a second Board Room at the North Satellite. It’s a temporary overcrowding fix and will be replaced with a rooftop lounge in 2018 as part of the terminal expansion. Additionally, Alaska plans to open a third lounge (within the C concourse) in 2016.

Full details in the PR from Delta:

Conveniently located between Concourses A and B, the stylish lounge will offer customers exceptional views of the runway and Mount Rainier while they work or unwind.

The lounge will feature contemporary furniture with power outlets near every seat, warm wood finishes reminiscent of the Pacific Northwest, rotating art curated from local galleries, a unique spa space to rejuvenate or relax, and personalized flight assistance among many other amenities.

“Our newest club in Seattle extends our commitment to creating world-class experiences for our customers,” said Claude Roussel, Managing Director — Delta Sky Club. “Seattle has a rapidly expanding business and travel community, and it’s important that we create an experience that uniquely represents the local market with a feel that’s also very inviting to the city’s guests.”

The club will offer a complimentary menu featuring chef-driven selections highlighting local flavors along with a complimentary local IPA craft beer by Georgetown Brewing Company, Seattle’s own Starbucks coffee and local wines by the glass curated by Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson.
