Great news for Velocity Frequent Flyer program members! Paul Scurrah, CEO and Managing Director of Virgin Australia, just announced an extension of elite status for 12 months. Even if you don’t travel in the next 12 months you will still retain your current Platinum, Gold or Silver status. This is in addition to a status credit gift awarded earlier in the week.
Velocity Frequent Flyers will receive an email in the next two weeks with details on both your Status Credit gift and your 12-month Status Extension.
The Status Credit Gifts by Level:
- Platinum: 210
- Gold: 105
- Silver: 60
This comes as a relief to Velocity Frequent Flyers when the latest news is that Virgin Australia will suspend all international travel and halve domestic flights starting March 20th.
Hopefully other frequent flyer programs will offer similar benefits to their members who are not able to travel during the coronavirus outbreak. In the coming days and weeks we will send along any and all updates that we receive.
