Expedia Acquires Travelocity for $280M

In case you missed the news yesterday, Expedia announced that they have acquired competitor booking site Travelocity from the Sabre Corp. for $280 million in cash. Expedia already owns Hotels.com and Hotwire among almost a dozen different travel sites.

Expedia has actually been the backbone powering searches on Travelocity’s US and Canadian sites since 2013 so users shouldn’t notice much of a difference.
