If you plan on visiting London for the first time, and don’t mind something touristy, the London Big Bus Tour is a fun way to see the city’s sights with a hop-on-hop-off bus. I usually do one full route to get to know a city first, then use a pass to go between sights afterwards. Plus, with your cheap fare to London, you can afford some more sightseeing dollars.
Also, Viator has some great tours and attraction tickets you can buy in advance and skip the lines. Don’t miss these must-do things in London that I find most enjoyable:
- Changing of the Guards – Buckingham Palace (Okay, it’s so famous, you just have to see it once!)
- Coca-Cola London Eye – It’s a super-sized ferris wheel in the sky
- Take a tour around the Tower of London, one of the world’s most famous buildings. Learn about its 900-year history as a royal palace, prison and execution place, arsenal, jewel house and zoo! Peer at the White Tower, pass through a medieval king’s bedchamber and gaze at the Crown Jewels.
- Big Ben – It’s a super sized clock, but again, it’s so famous you have to take pictures (maybe a selfie?) with the world’s most famous time-keeper
- Take in the View from The Shard’s Observation Deck. If you haven’t heard about this, check out the views from western Europe’s tallest building at 800ft (244m).
My Favorite Places To Stay In London
There are so many wonderful accommodations to choose from in London. But let me offer some of my favorite hotel suggestions:
The newly opened Kimpton Fitzory London, originally built in 1898, is located close to the London Zoo and the Charles Dickens Museum. It features a classical London feel and wonderful decor and amenities.
If you are a Hilton fan, you can discover Hilton’s best promotions of the moment in London. The Hilton Park Lane (part of their Curio Collection) is a fantastic property, located at a prestigious address.
No matter where you stay, I am sure you will have a great time in London. After saving some serious money on this cheap fare to London, you can afford to do more things in this great European capital city!
