MH370 Updates – Code Found on Wreckage Consistent w/ 777 Boeing Manual, Suitcase Discovered, Officials “Almost Certain” Debris is B777

A few interesting updates this morning on the MH370 search:

  • AirLive.net has pictures of a Boeing 777 maintenance manual which matches the code found on the debris “657BB” to a 777 flaperon. They also have an exclusive picture of the wreckage where you can clearly view the code.
  • A suitcase has been discovered in the same area, though of course there is no way to confirm that it came from MH370 or that it’s related to the apparent flaperon discovery.
  • MH370 is currently the only B777 missing in the world and now Malaysian and Australian officials are saying that it’s “almost certain” the plane debris came from a Boeing 777.
  • Australian officials confirm that the debris certainly could have reached the island – “a piece of debris could have floated a very, very long way in 16 months.”
