New Delta CEO: Growth & Improvements, Transition Was 1 Yr in Making

by Adam

Ed Bastian, who takes over Delta’s top post in May, told CNBC not to expect any major changes. He says the airline will “keep climbing” with continuous improvements and notes that the current business plan was put into place by a management team still fully committed to the same goals.

“There are no substantive changes we’re anticipating,” the airline president told CNBC on Thursday, one day after Delta announced the management transition. “It has taken 10 hard years to get the product and to get the service levels and customer satisfaction to where they are. Our goal is to improve it.”

The soon to be CEO also noted that the transition plan has been in the works for years with May pegged as the official date for over a year now.
