Sunday Route Update – New From PMTTP!

We’re excited to ‘pilot’ a new weekly post highlighting route updates from major airlines around the world. Let us know what you think! ✈︎

➸  LEVEL will move its Barcelona to Oakland service to San Francisco (SFO) effective October 28.

➸  Etihad is making significant cuts from its Abu Dhabi hub, including canceling and reducing frequencies on the following routes:

  • Abu Dhabi – Edinburgh
  • Abu Dhabi – Perth
  • Abu Dhabi – Dhaka
  • Abu Dhabi – Los Angeles reduce to three weekly (previously four weekly) 
  • Abu Dhabi – New York JFK reduce to once daily (previously twice daily) 

➸  LATAM Brasil will begin five weekly service from Sao Paulo Guarulhos to Lisbon on its Boeing 767 aircraft effective September 2. LATAM also announced intentions to serve Munich.

➸  American made multiple domestic route additions, including:

Effective November 4:

  • Dallas/Ft. Worth – Del Rio twice daily ERJ140
  • New York LaGuardia – Charleston twice weekly E175
  • New York LaGuardia – Savannah twice weekly E175 

Effective December 19 

  • Dallas/Ft. Worth – Buffalo daily A319
  • Dallas/Ft. Worth – Sarasota  daily CRJ700
  • Dallas/Ft. Worth – Wilmington daily CRJ900
  • Miami – Greenville/ Spartanburg twice daily ERJ145
  • Miami – Knoxville twice daily ERJ145

  Southwest extended its schedule last week. Route highlights below with more info here:

Effective November 4: 

  • Burbank – Chicago Midway six weekly
  • Burbank – Houston Hobby six weekly   
  • Denver – Lubbock six weekly
  • New York LaGuardia – New Orleans daily
  • New York LaGuardia – Orlando once weekly (effective Nov 10)
  • New York LaGuardia – West Palm Beach once weekly
  • Sacramento – Houston Hobby once weekly
  • San Jose CA – Tucson six weekly 
  • Washington Reagan – Oklahoma City daily
  • Chicago Midway – Los Cabos twice weekly

➸ Frontier announced 15 new routes and released a summary of service additions:

  • Austin: new service to Louisville, KY, and Orange County
  • Las Vegas: new service to Calgary, Norfolk, and Spokane
  • Orlando: resuming Pittsburgh and new daily service to Ontario, CA
  • San Diego: new service to Cleveland, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, and Raleigh/Durham
  • San Antonio: new service to Orange County and Salt Lake City
  • Calgary: new service to Denver and Las Vegas

➸  Aeromexico announced two new regional routes on its Embraer E190s to:

  • Mexico City – Punta Cana twice weekly
  • Mexico City – Liberia, Costa Rica twice weekly 

➸  Spirit filed schedule changes over the weekend that shows the carrier dropping nine routes:

  • Boston – Dallas/Ft. Worth
  • Baltimore – Oakland
  • Denver – Los Angeles
  • Dallas/Ft. Worth – Oakland
  • Dallas/Ft. Worth – San Diego
  • Dallas/Ft. Worth – Seattle
  • Dallas/Ft. Worth – Pittsburgh
  • Houston – Seattle
  • Los Angeles – Tampa

 

Did You Know?

United operates seasonal, weekend-only service from Austin, Cleveland, New Orleans, and San Antonio to Cancun. Pretty interesting for an airline with almost zero point-to-point routes.
