Luckily, Euro Trip was just a tad bit off, Bratislava rocked! I decided to stay on the ground this weekend and took the train from Prague to Bratislava (Slovakia is country #70 for me). I really loved the city and was surprised by all it had to offer. I was also extremely impressed with the Sheraton, which happens to be three years old but still felt brand new. Full trip report coming soon, but take a look at some of these pictures in the meantime…
Upgraded to a pretty gigantic, modern, and comfy junior suite – awesome bed and huge bathroom and strong rain shower…
View from them club lounge but more on that in the trip report…
I also plan to do a full trip report on Bratislava as I think it’s another underrated city. The old town and newly updated waterfront were great, but my favorite activity was a canoe ride down the Danube as we followed the “Iron Curtain Escape Path” from Slovakia into Austria.
Who would have thought Bartislava would have such a nice waterfront with great restaurants…
Yep, those beers are .80 cents a piece!

I’m going to Bratislava for 24 hours in November (part of a 3 week, 10 country jaunt) and staying at the same hotel. Thanks for posting this, especially pictures of the hotel. I look forward to the detailed trip report.
Thanks, great report. I was there in 1996 as a backpacker and loved it then, too. Now, I’d like to see it again on points and miles.
