What Do You Win as ATL’s 100 Million Traveller? A Missed Flight!

by Eric

This past Sunday, December 27, 2015, was a busy one for travelers heading home after Christmas.  It was  a particularly unique one for Larry Kendrick from Biloxi, MS who became Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson’s 100 millionth passenger of 2015 as he stepped off his flight.  This marked the first time at any airport in world history that any single airport had served 100 million passengers in one year.

The good news?  Larry won a Nissan Altima, a $500 gift card, a set of wireless headphones, and two first-class, round-trip tickets to anywhere in the world via Delta Airlines!

The bad news?  Larry had flown into Atlanta from Gulfport, and was on his way to catch a connecting flight to Chicago.  Because of all the fanfare surrounding his celebration, he missed his connecting flight.  Insert joke about Delta Airlines/Hartsfield-Jackson Airport here.

I like how they had to “estimate” what flight and passenger it really was. Funny how they “happen” to pick a Delta flight, go figure. Well liars figure anyway.

DaninMCI –

Did you really expect a Spirit Airlines passenger to win? 😛

There’s a bit of irony. Two international first class tickets, courtesy of an airline that has no international first class.

The funniest thing the winner said when asked where he’d go with his free tickets is that “Dubai does sound pretty good.” I’m sure Delta loved hearing that.
