You would think the variety and pervasiveness of fast food chains in the United States would be enough to sate anyone’s appetite and keep those with adventurous palates satisfied. But if standard menu offerings have ceased to induce tongue watering, the wait for the next round of Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme has become too unbearable, or the McDonald’s McRib has yet to make its seasonal return, think about a trip abroad. Fast food restaurants’ sister sites abroad often offer enticing fare not seen on American menus, and most have local twists that reflect the country’s cuisine such as Burger King Canada’s poutine and the Chicken Maharaja Mac at McDonald’s in India. Hungry tourists beware: don’t get so gluttonous in the airport food court that you forget to try the real local delicacies.
