Over the weekend my 15,000 bonus miles posted for my March 1 – May 31st US Airways bonus offer. Not bad, about six weeks after the promo ended.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I had been patiently waiting and hoping to receive the much talked about 15k offer from Barclays and it finally arrived at the end of February. Several readers who signed up for the card a month or two later received the same offer but for May 1- July 31st or June 1 – August 31st. What is the 15k offer? Lately, Barclays has been offering an additional 15K bonus for spending $750 every month for 3 months after a period of inactivity once you complete your first purchase (usually 2 months or so) on your new US Airways Premier World MasterCard. In my case, I applied for the card (for a second time) in early December and made my first purchase on December 17th. My bonus miles posted to my Dividend Miles account on January 2nd and I then tucked the card away. For those of you who have just received the card, this promotion is still very much alive and I’d recommend curbing your spending after your first purchase in order to potentially qualify for this promotion.
Check out this previous post for results of my experiments in US Airways MasterCard churning and tips on proposed timelines and best available offers.
1) 35k after your first purchase, annual fee waived for the first year, 10k for card renewal. No landing page or promo details (thanks Chester F for the link). LINK DEAD
2) 30k after your first purchase, annual fee of $89, up to an additional 10k when you transfer a balance within 90 days (1 mile per $). Full landing page and promo details.
3) Business Card – 25k after your first purchase, up to 10k for balance transfer within the first 30 days (1 mile per $), $79 annual fee. Note this link will also give you the option to select a business card with no annual fee and 5k miles for signing up.
I now plan to cancel the card so that I can apply again and hopefully receive the initial sign-up bonus (and maybe the spend offer once again). Will update with results come the next AoR!

I haven’t received any offer like this!!!!
Your “invitation” indicates that your promotion was for spend in March, April and May; if so, your bonus came six weeks after the promotion ended. Thanks for posting; my bonus miles haven’t arrived yet, but I will watch for them.
I received this offer for May, June, and July. Did my spending in May and June and just hit the July spending requirment 2 days ago so I’m eagerly awaiting the bonus (hasn’t posted yet–but it’s early).
did you ever receive 15K bonus?
@michael – yes, check this post https://pointmetotheplane.boardingarea.com/2013/07/15/us-airways-barclays-card-bonus-offer-spend
How many days/weeks/months should we wait after canceling the card to re-apply for another?
Does this promo offer also go to people who have used the card on and off for the first three months and then quits using it for three months?
Mine was April-June. I do see that the letter did say over $750. I ran spend through AP at exactly $750. Should I be kicking myself now or in 4ish more weeks when the points don’t post?
I received this offer and spent 750 per month- aug was last month. However when I call barclay they have no idea what I am talking about. Did your miles just appear or did you receive some sort of communication that you had hit your target?
15K posted today for 750 spend in May/June/July
[…] This one was very important to me. After receiving the sign-up bonus and then an additional 15K bonus on my last US card in July, I wanted to apply for another non business version of the card. I went ahead in August […]
Have been waiting since end of promotion in August for miles to post.. after 3 secured messages and being told it would be posted by Oct, 31st I opened a case to inquire why it’s taking so long.
I need to purchase 2 award flights for May 2014.
I can’t believe some people got it posted in the next statement and others 3 statements afterwards.
