Doesn’t it seem like there’s one of these every few weeks? This one ranks Alaska and Delta at the top and American and United at the bottom on the list of nine US carriers. Here’s the latest from the WSJ, where Scott McCartney shares which airlines performed the best and the worst in 2013 using the following criteria: on-time arrivals, canceled flights, extreme delays, bumped passengers, mishandled bags, complaints, and 2+ hour tarmac delays.
In the Middle Seat’s annual scorecard of airline service, tracking seven different key measures of airline performance, Alaska Airlines performed best in 2013 among major carriers. At the top with Alaska was Delta, which for the past two years has posted far better operational results than big competitors. Worst among big airlines? United Airlines and American Airlines, again.
