America’s 20 Coolest Outdoor Towns – Which Are Best for Outdoor Activities?

Back in April, Matador Network ran an article on America’s 20 Coolest Outdoor Towns. Some are places of which many people are familiar, but there are definitely a few on that list of which I never would have thought!

Being a native Californian, I am familiar with most of the West Coast destinations. However, there was one on that list which really stood out and was a bit of a surprise: Chattanooga, Tennessee. This stood out because I happen to be headed to Chattanooga in the end of July for a few days (with a free flight, of course, courtesy of Southwest Airlines), so I can’t wait to check out everything that the outdoors of Southeastern Tennessee has to offer.

Seeing this list just makes me want to travel even more.  Thank goodness for points and miles!

What are you favorites from this list?  Or are there any others that you would like to add which were not listed?

  1. According to Outdoor Magazine it’s Park City, UT which is also the best small town in America. I agree and this list is worthless. Big Sky? I’m from Montana and outside of skiing Big Sky is lame. Bozeman maybe?
