Review: ‘The MORE’ Premium Lounge Taipei (TPE) Is A Priority Pass Oasis

by Miles Jackson

I have my favorite airport lounges around the world, and then some I’d rather not visit again. By far, Singapore and Hong Kong contain many of my preferred lounges in Asia.

Let me share with you one of my favorites — a lounge gem that is located actually in Taipei. I went back to this lounge on my recent trip through Bali and Singapore. My little lounge oasis in travel is called The MORE Business Center and Premium Lounge which can be found in TPE Terminal 2 (situated airside, inside security.)

It is on the second level alongside many other airport lounges.  I think having the name ‘Business Center’ keeps a lot of travelers away from this lounge. They may perceive the name to indicate less of a friendly environment for casual travelers. Let me share the secret of this lounge with you.

How to Access The MORE Lounge

The easiest way to gain access to The More Business Center and Premium Lounge is by having a Priority Pass membership, whether purchased outright or through a credit card that offers free membership.

Priority Pass  provides access to more than 1,200 lounges around the world. Participating lounges include a mix of airline, airport, and independent locations, mostly in departure areas. Premium credit cards, like the American Express Platinum and Chase Sapphire Reserve, include full Priority Pass memberships with up to two guests.

You can also buy an entry pass for about $1100 NT (Taiwan New Dollar) which is about $36 USD.

How Do I Get Priority Pass For Free?

If you are US based, these credit cards include Priority Pass Select. This allows you and two guests into any Priority Pass venue:

The MORE Lounge: Location

As I mentioned, The MORE Lounge is located in Taipei’s (TPE) Terminal 2 on the second floor. From the main terminal floor there will be a sign indicating many lounges up the escalator or elevator.

The MORE Lounge: First Impressions & Décor

First of all, the More lounge has themed-rooms. Who doesn’t like choices? There is the London room, a New York room, Hong Kong room, and a Sydney room. Each one decorated with furniture and a style reflective of that room’s name.

In addition, I always find plenty of room to myself. This lounge does not get overcrowded and I enjoy the really large sofas when I just want a cup of coffee, some ice cream or dessert and need to unwind.

Personally, I always gravitate to the London room. I love its big comfy sofas and the room even has a full-sized harp! There are also several tables and matching chairs in a more classical look of London.

  • Free beverages, food, ice cream

  • Massage chairs
  • Restrooms with a private shower room
  • Conference room

Sydney Room Features Massage Chairs

You can find massage chairs placed in two of the rooms within the lounge. However, you will get no help trying to figure out the instructions. I had a heck of a time trying to get my desired massage. I’m used to either some instructions in English, or a preset massage program easily selected by pushing a few buttons.

There is also a conference room (seen above) that can be reserved at no cost if it is not already in use.

Showers

The lounge provides private showers. I had no wait time when I approached the lounge agent to request mine. The shower was adequate, although the walls seemed to need some attention. They provide a hair dryer in the room. This certainly is my least favorite part of the lounge. They could really step up their game here to match the feeling of the rest of the lounge.

The MORE Lounge: Food & Drink

I’ve checked out all the available lounges at TPE for Priority Pass holders and in my opinion, this lounge has the best food and alcohol.

There are so many options for beverages, snacks and food. There are two major serving areas where items are self-service.

Serving Area Two

I really like that they offered several varieties of steamed buns. They offered many different varieties for main entrees, although almost all were Asian. So if you are hoping to find some western tastes here, you are pretty limited to peanut butter, coffee and ice cream.

Of course, the highlight for me is the self-serve Häagen-Dazs ice cream stations. They now have two of them featuring about eight flavors.

The Upshot

The MORE Business Center and Lounge is a fantastic facility with a unique feel. Since the name “business center” often turns people off from visiting, you will often find it very under utilized. That means a more personal, private experience. Whether it’s enjoying the different rooms and their tailored furniture and decor, relaxing in a massage chair or picking your favorite Häagen-Dazs flavor, do yourself a favor and check this lounge out next time you’re at TPE.

If you have already visited, please share what experiences you have had at the The More Business Center and Premium Lounge.

Massage chair is my favorite part of the lounge. A good massage will make it much easier to fall asleep on a flight.

I’m glad you got to enjoy those at the lounge. Hopefully you have better luck than I with the instructions.

Jeff,
They just recently closed the lounge for remodeling. I’m looking forward to an even better experience once they reopen their doors.

Transited through TPE last week..was wondering how I missed this in lieu of the overcrowded plaza premium lounge.
