It was announced by Tourism Minister Thong Khon to the Khmer Times that country was hoping to reach 7 million overseas visitors annually by 2020, and this visa would be one step in that process. Starting September 1, 2016, all those visiting Cambodia will have the opportunity “to enter and exit Cambodia many times during the visa’s validity period.”

Currently, visitors from the European Union and the US fare allowed to stay for 1 month on a single visa. Pricing for the new visa has not yet been confirmed.
