While working in Canada last month I took aadvantage of Avis’ AA promotion that was recently extended until September 15th. The bonus points took some time to post, but finally showed up in my account this morning.  I received 3,000 points for a one day $39 rental with tax, not bad at all.  My corporate rate was used and still qualified for this promotion, just remember to input the coupon number when making your reservation.  The coupon code is valid at Avis airport locations in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.  Full details below:

Coupon Code: MUAA035
Dates: Valid through September 15, 2012.
Earnings: Receive 3,000 AAdvantage bonus miles on rentals of 1-2 days and earn 5,000 AAdvantage bonus miles on rentals of 3 days or more.

If you have a rental beginning after the 15th, the offer drops down to 500 AAdvantage bonus miles on rentals of 1-2 days and 750 bonus miles on rental of 3 days or more.

The link already shows the 750 mile offer. Do you have the 5k offer?

@Mark – the link has the new coupon code and offer, if you use the old one it is still valid until the 15th. The website has already been updated though.

This is an awesome deal. I got in on it on a week rental. I removed the free upgrade coupon I had and applied this. I was traveling with my whole family so I figured I would just squeeze into the car. They saw how tight we would be and gave me a free upgrade anyway. Avis is great! That trip ended up being one of the best deals I have pulled off.

I paid $15 and 9120 points on SW to fly me, wife. and 2 kids from ATL to Virginia beach (Companion pass and lap infant made 2 people free). Flights there and back were more than half empty so our baby got her own seat. Via this promo, dining signup bonuses, and normal spend on the trip for car and stay. I got over 10000 points across a few programs. Free upgrade on the car, and an awesome VBRO right on the water. Also got %5.5 cashback on Avis rental via topcashback. Don’t think I could have done much better.

Is there a cap on this offer? I received 5,000 miles on a previous rental and was thinking of booking a 3-day rental tonight. At LAX, it’s about $62 including tax.

@Paul – I got over 25k miles the last time they ran a similar promotion so I’m assuming there is no cap

long discussion on this at flyertalk with people renting multiple cars per day. Does not appear to be a cap.
