In case you haven’t heard, the Pope is coming! Pope Francis will be arriving in the United States on Tuesday September 22, 2015 for a 6-day trip through Washington DC, New York City and Philadelphia. Pope Francis will be the fourth Pope to the United States, and the third to meet the U.S. President during a visit.

Your interests in learning of where the Pope will be during this visit may be simply to avoid the traffic that comes with anything related to a Papal visit! After all, in January 2015, his mass in Manila, Philippines was attended by over 6 million people!

- 9:15 a.m: White House Welcoming Ceremony and personal meeting with President Obama
- 11:00 a.m. Papal Parade along the Ellipse and the National Mall
- 11:30 a.m: The Pope will lead mid-day prayers at St. Matthew’s Cathedral with U.S. bishops
- 4:15 p.m: Pope Francis will hold a canonization Mass in Spanish for 25,000 ticket holders at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

- 9:20 a.m: Arrival at U.S. Capitol
- 10 a.m. Speech to the Senate and House of Representatives (Joint Session of Congress)
- 11 a.m. Brief stop on west front of Capitol Building, which faces the National Mall
- 11:15 a.m: Visit to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in DC and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington
- 4 p.m: Departure for New York from Joint Base Andrews
