Two New DFW Lounges To Open In 2020

by Chris Dong

Plaza Premium Group has over 160 airport lounges and airport hotels worldwide. However, the vast majority of these facilities are outside North America. Plaza Premium is looking to expand in the U.S. market, however, and will open its first U.S. lounge at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport (DFW) in 2020.

The first Plaza Premium lounge in the U.S. will be in DFW Terminal E and is expected to open in late March-early April. This Plaza Premium Lounge (PPL) location will be one of two lounges to open at DFW, with another larger location to open in DFW’s International Terminal later in 2020.

The Terminal E lounge is definitely on the smaller side, with space to accommodate up to 59 people in a 1400 SF footprint.

Plaza Premium says there will be freshly prepared hot and cold dishes that rotate daily, along with a wide range of beverages including local and imported beers, wines featured from California, and Italian Lavazza Coffee.

Hours of operation are expected to be 4:30am to 8:00pm daily.

In addition to the two lounges at DFW, Plaza Premium Group will open a third lounge at Denver International Airport in 2020 as well.

Most Plaza Premium lounges worldwide are accessible by Priority Pass, and I don’t see that changing with these lounges either.

Plaza Premium lounges are better than all US airlines lounges except the premium ones (like AA Flagship lounge). This is a welcome addition to the US, not just DFW. Hopefully they will provide competition and elevate the quality of the US airline lounges rather than declining to their level.

The other domestic lounges that I can think of that are as nice are the Escape lounges.
