This was certainly not how Melina Roberge, 23, and Isabelle Lagacé, 28, imagined their around the world trip ending. Both women are active users of Instagram (their respective accounts are linked here and here), with 15,000+ and 30,000+ followers.
Among the many photos that the pair have shared on their recent trip, photos show them in bikinis in Tahiti, riding 4-wheelers in Peru, along the water in Ecuador, and hanging out in New York City.
However, this lavish trip ended a few days ago in Australia when they were arrested as a result of:
“A joint operation between the Australian Border Force (ABF) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP), in cooperation with the US Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), New Zealand Customs Service (NZCS) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) … resulted in the seizure of approximately 95 kilograms of cocaine from a Cruise Ship in Sydney.”
The Australian Border Force shared a photograph on Facebook documenting the cocaine seizure. In the post, the Australia Border Force made the comment that the travelers “did not have much room for clean underwear or spare toothbrushes.”
If the allegations are true, then their most recent trip is one heck of a way pre-jail vacation!
