Delta CEO, Richard Anderson, gave up his seat last Wednesday on a DCA-ATL flight so a mother on the standby list could get home to pick her daughter up from summer camp. Check out the full story at The Street

“You, Richard Anderson, the CEO of Delta, did all that for me, just an average, middle-aged, woman with, as far as anyone at Delta knew, no special reason to get home,” wrote Frank, president of Werner Frank, an Atlanta-based representative for giftware and home décor manufacturers.

As the plane descended into Atlanta, the flight attendant announced that there was a special guest on board,” Frank wrote. “He was riding in a jump seat, because he had given up his place to allow one more person on that flight.” The special guest was Anderson. Only then did Frank realize that it was he who had helped her to board; she had recognized him because he appears on Delta’s in-flight safety videos.

To me this is a non-story. I would be more impressed if he was VDB, instead he get’s special treatment and is allowed to sit in an empty jump seat. Have you ever seen a regular paying customer presented with that opportunity?

What a bunch of BS if you can buy that. Yeah the CEO flies standby, gives a sweet old lady his seat and sits on a jump seat.

And of course the FA tells everybody on board so they can all clap and see how wonderful Delta is.

This is the biggest cacamammie story of 2013. Nice try Delta but you need a better PR story!

Get her a biz award in low and we will all clap even more.
